Back in 2010 , 6 mates ( Colin Harrison , Paul Doyle , Tommy Doyle , Colin Brackell , Lol Buoey and Robbie Alliston ) enjoyed a Golf Day at Mossock Hall.
After the round they decided it would be a good idea to form a Society and by bringing along other people they knew who played golf
they could easily get together a reasonable number to create a viable Society.
And so the Alder Hey Golf Society was born and had it's first official year in 2011 , with Colin Harrison nominated as the inaugural Captain.
Since then the Society has gone from strength to strength.
Sadly in October 2016 , the Society lost one of it's founder members , and in truth it's
figurehead , when Colin Harrison lost his battle with illness.
Colin was a truly great bloke and nobody had a bad word to say about him. He was the best player in the Society , but despite that he would always have words of encouragement and would give you tips when you were lucky enough to be drawn with him on a Society Day.
He had a vision for the Society - a vision which we will all endeavour to fulfil the best way
we can.
Hopefully he will be looking down on us - and approving of what we are doing.
